My favorite activity that we did this year was reading Ender’s Game, because it was a pretty interesting story.

My least favorite activity we did this year was reading each chapter and writing things about what happened in each chapter, because it feels like we wasted time on the stories that way.

When we read F451 I learned a lot of things, because it’s a futuristic story and if you take the time to look around, you see everything how it changes to what the book says.

I learned that as technology advances, we want to read less and less.

I think I learned everything I wanted to learn.

What best prepared me for the TAKS test was when we practiced and practiced everything that was going to be on the test.

What best prepared me for English next year was the encouragement of doing the work and turning it in on time and focusing on learning important things.

I really don’t have a one favorite book that we read this year, but Lord of the Flies and Ender’s Game were my favorite, Lord of the Flies because it makes you imagine yourself in that situation, like you were in the story. Ender’s Game because it’s a pretty interesting story.

Ender is pretty much like Gene, Ralf, Montag and Caesar in which they all killed for a reason. They are different because they all killed for a different reason.

Ender killed without even knowing he killed. They tricked him into killing buggers and told him it was just a game to practice. He also sacrificed humans when he was killing buggers in the game, because he thought it was just a game. In the beginning of the story, Ender killed Stilson and Bonzo. He killed both of them, because they would bully him and no one would protect him. They also lied to Ender about their death. They told Ender that they were okay.

Gene didn’t kill anybody, but the person who he pushed down the tree died later on. Gene was jealous of him or at least seemed to be.

Ralph killed because he wanted to be the leader. A peaceful leader, so that everyone would make it out of the island alive and no deads.

Montag was a little different. They lied to the whole country that books were bad. When Montag found out they weren’t, he started reading them and his wife told on him so they were going burn his house and get his friend in trouble when they found out about the ear piece, so he killed them.

Caesar killed so they wouldn’t take over Rome, but they killed him for wanting to become later on a tyrant. His friends killed him the day the people were going to give him the crown to make him king.

I can relate Ender more to Montag, because they were both lied to and they killed for a good cause.

The fact that Ender got away with murder is describable because first of all, it was genius for the commanders and the people in charge of everything not to tell Ender about what he had done yet keep it was a secrete. I would be most certain that if Ender was to find out what he had done to Stilson and Bonzo, he would feel like a murderer and he would probably be so sad he would give up on everything, which means he would not fight the buggers or even try to do anything. So it was good that they didn’t tell him that he had murdered both Stilson and and Bonzo, but they let him kill them, the provoked him to do it. If they would have helped Ender, protected him from Stilson and Bonzo, none of that would have happened. So I think they did a terrible thing, to let Ender kill Stilson and Bonzo.

I really don’t think they should punish Ender for killing Bonzo and Stilson, because it was not his fault that he did it. It was the person in charge’s fault for letting people bully Ender. Ender does not even know he killed them, he just knows he hurt them bad so they will never try to hurt him ever again.

I think that if Ender gets in another fight and kills someone else, he should be punished for it, unless it’s in self-defense, if Ender kills someone just for killing them, then he should be punished for that.

If I can think of anyone in our society who has gotten away with murder, I say it would be the soldiers. I’m not saying they do it for fun, but they still kill other people. I think it is wrong, there shouldn’t be any wars so people won’t a lot of people won’t die just for land that was not even ours in the first place.

I don’t think the children are treated like children. I think they are treated bad and they make them do so many stuff children shouldn’t do. Ender is being treated worst than the other kids. They want to make Ender the best commander and leader there has ever been. They are treating him too abusive to get there. Now Dragon army which Ender is the commander of, is getting tired from so many battles they have him do.

When Dink says “We’re not children. Children can lose sometimes, and nobody cars.” I think he is correct. He probably does feel sorry about his observation of how they treat kids. The goal for the “children” at Battle School are way beyond the goals of other kids not in Battle School. Battle Schools try to make kids something they’re not. They try to make them the bests, but they most of the time make them the worst. Though there are some brilliant kids in there, that still doesn’t mean they have to treat them that way. Goals for Battle School kids are to learn how to be a leader, a commander. Kids I know, their goals are to graduate and get a good job. (Word Count: 126)

I have 2 siblings, a brother and a sister. Me and my brother are really good brothers. Me and my sister are really good brother and sister. About five years ago, When I was little, my brother would always pick on me. My mom luckily would always be there to get on him so he could leave me alone. But when I was alone, it was like a nightmare. He would always hit me, just because I was smarter than him and he was tougher than me. I had to do something to avoid him everyday. But everyday he would come to me and hit me, when I actually had done nothing to him. That happened for more than 3 years. Everyday the same thing. My mom worked, so she couldn’t be there 24/7. My step-dad worked too. So as time passed, I started getting stronger and stronger, until one day, I hit him back. (Word count: 152)

From my opinion, I think that people seriously have stopped reading books. I think that people have stopped reading books because, the new technology allows them to do so many things for fun with out having to be bored reading books. I have been to some libraries and I still see people enjoying reading books, the love to read books. They feel like their having more fun than having fun using today’s technology. I also went to some technology stores, the stores were full. A lot of people were looking to buy the most new things and replacing old things. Now days most people don’t read books because they think they are boring, today’s life is way easier than back in the old days were technology was not made, yet. People actually had to read books as much as possible to get knowledge, to get better jobs and make enough money to support their families. Today, you don’t been much to get a job to support your family. I really don’t think there is anything we can do to make people read books, but everything is possible. A way that we can make people read books is, having books that are interesting with drama and detail, with action and realistic fiction or reality. That would be a good thing to do so people won’t think that books are boring anymore. Another thing that can be done to have people start reading books is, making books a little shorter but better in explaining the meaning of everything inside using short sentences. From my experience, I would fall asleep reading a book 50-200 pages long. Even if it was full of drama and action, it would still not satisfy my mind to make it keep wanting to read. Blog #1- 5th 6-Weeks

What I have learned this last 6-weeks are lots of things. I would try to explain every single one of them but, that would just take me the whole class period. Some of the things I have learned are, new words and the meaning of them, like for example; hyperbole and onamonapia. Simple words and easy to learn but are very useful. My vaforite activities were watching the movie and reading the book. The reason why is because, they are two different things but made from the same story. While one of them says something, the other one says a different thing. It is a really good story, interesting and funny at the same time, reading it and watching the movie make it my favorite activity to do. My least favorite activity thing to do is writing about some stuffs that are said in the book. Taking notes is boring, I never had liked taking notes, so that makes it my least favorite thing to do. I hope that we still watch the movie and finish it. I also hope that we finish reading the novel. It is very interesting, I hope we don’t have to write things about it. We learn a lot of things by taking notes and writing things about what is in the book but, it is too much work to do. (Word count: 228)

I remember one time when I was told to jump down from a tree into a pool in the forest. Eeverything was dark, becuase the trees were all around us. I was really young and short, and I didn’t know how to swim! But i gave it a try. It was hard for me to climb the tree, but I finally did, even when it took forever. The tree was really tall and i was only standing on one thin branch. At first I thought it was going to break and I was going to fall on the rocks beneath the tree and die, but I wasn’t the fattest person in the whole world, I was probably the skinniest one. I only weighed about 60 pounds or less, so i figured it was safe for my weight. I jumped down and landed on the water with my stomach and went all the way in the pool. I touched the bottom and I found out there was slippery things and leaves at the bottom of the pool. I also remembered that my grandma told me people have gotten bit by snakes in there. I got so scared, I went in panic. I didn’t know what do do. I was in the middle of a really deep pool, I tryed to put my hand out of the water so they could see me and help me, but I wasn’t even close to reaching outside the water. I was also upside down so I started swimming up, but I was actually going down, but I still didn’t touch the bottom. I was out of breath, I thought I was going to die, but then I put myself like how i was supposed to, so that up will be up, not down. Then I made myself heavy and went all the way to be bottom of the pool, I touched the leaves and I quickly used my legs to push myself out of there as fast as I could! I got out as fast as a bullet, I swam to a rock and stayed there, I looked around and nocited noone was even paying attention to me. Since that day, I never do things I don’t want to do even with peer pressure. Word count: (380)

I was once jealous of one of my friends. I was so jealous I would not like him anymore. I didn’t see him as a friend anymore. I would envy him for what he had that I didn’t! He had the nicest car I had ever seen. It was a Honda Civic. Big rims, gray, with blue lights on the bottom and inside too. A TV inside where you could watch videos, movies, play music or even your favorite game. He had a PSP installed in the passenger seat, an Xbox 360 and a PS3 to play in the little TV. The TV was not just for all those things, it was also used to get wherever you wanted to get, it had an expensive GPS system installed. The sound was amazing! It would make everything shake, you could even feel it on other cars. It was really loud with high qualitly sound. I had never seen a car like that one. He was also planning on making the doors open up not to the sides. I think it would also look better with some stickers of something famous or something saying the car was a monster or fast! The point is that I wanted that car and I was jealous of him for having it and not me.

Now I have a car looking kind of like his. Except my car does not have big rims or a nice sound or TV or games, but I know some day it will have all of that and even more! Word count “259″
